Their dreams have finally come true!! Colleen, formally known as Groomed by Colleen, has teamed up with her husband and daughter to open Camp K9.
Colleen and Silesia are a mother/daughter duo that own and operate this stress and anxiety free facility.
Colleen has been grooming dogs for 33 years. She has had many small breed dogs growing up. Colleen and her husband, Jeff, have a white Standard Poodle named Willow and has always wanted to use creative grooming to turn her into a zebra! Her favorite thing about Camp K9, besides spending time with her doggy friends, is being able to see the sunrise out the front windows!
Colleen is the head groomer at Camp K9.
Growing up with a dog-grooming mom, Silesia had no other option than to follow in her mom's foot steps. Lucky, Silesia has it in her blood to care for and love animals. She is a certified professional dog trainer with IACP.
Silesia has a Dalmatian that she has trained to bird hunt. Her favorite thing about Camp K9 is meeting new clients and seeing how happy the dogs are when their parents come to pick them up at the end of the day!
Meet our Manager!
Kelly is our new manager at Camp K9. She has worked with us as a front desk receptionist since January 2023 and has been eager to learn everything from bathing dogs before their grooms to managing our finances. Kelly's favorite things to do in her spare time are reading poetry and going on nature walks with her pups. Her favorite thing about working for Camp k-9 is seeing all of our reoccurring customers and getting to know them day by day. Her favorite breed is a French Bulldog because of their "squishy faces".
Meet our Groomers!
Liz is our grooming manager and has been with Camp K9 since November 2019! She grew up with a black lab/retriever mix (which is now her favorite breed!) and rescued 3 stray dogs and over 28 cats! Liz's favorite things to do during her free time is spending time with her children and playing video games with a good storyline. Her favorite thing about working at Camp K9 is the look on the customer's faces when they see their dog after a groom and how excited the dog is when their owner comes to pick them up. "I get to see the love and bond between pet and owner. And that is something really special."
Kolesa been with Camp K9 since August, 2020. She went to NDSU and is currently an LVT! She previously worked at a local vet clinic for 7 years and is how trying her hand in dog grooming and is doing an amazing job! Kolesa's favorite part about working at Camp K9 is snuggling up with the pups and seeing the grooming transformations!
Viridian is our brand-new grooming apprentice! They have only been with us for a few weeks and have been doing an amazing job! In their spare time you'll find them playing video games, writing, or playing D&D. Their favorite breed is an Irish Wolfhound and their favorite thing about working for Camp K-9 is working with all of the adorable dogs! They are eager to learn more about grooming and have already learned so much under Liz and Colleens supervision.
Meet our Kennel Staff/Front Desk!
Quinn joined Camp K9 at the beginning of 2022 and is a jack of all trades by working the front desk, supervising our dog friends, and even bathes dogs before their grooms! Her favorite breeds are St. Bernards and Miniature Schnauzers. When she is not working she loves spending time with her son. Fun fact about Quinn is that she has a degree in massage therapy.
Meet our Dog Trainer
Lotus joined Camp K9 about 3 months ago as our Dog Trainer! She has worked with many different breeds with a wide range of temperaments. In her spare time, she enjoys training her service dog, writing, drawing, and riding her motorcycle. Her favorite thing about working for Camp K-9 is all of the different breeds and individual personalities she gets to train, along with how amazing her coworkers are! Her favorite breed is a Mutt. Something about Lotus not very many people know is that she was the Womens Open Champion of the NDMA in 2013!
